Fallen

Just ten days after Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius was charged with shooting girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, older brother Carl is facing a homicide charge from a 2010 road death.

According to Msn.com, no further details have been confirmed but he was allegedly involved in a crash with a female motorcyclist and he was supposed to be in court last Thursday. Click here to read more: http://on-msn.com/136S7MI.

I just can’t imagine what the Pistorius family must be going through right now. Right now there is a whole lot of turmoil surrounding the brothers, the family and their public image in both the sporting world and the social media spectrum.

Apparently, someone hacked into Carl’s twitter account causing the family to cancel  all social media sites including that of their sister Aimee.

What I still can’t understand is how Oscar “Blade Runner” Pistorius got bailed out on $113,000 after he shot and killed his girlfriend. From my understanding, there have been reports that he shot her numerous times, through a door and after beating her severely. A couple of days ago Msn.com released another article about Steenkamp’s father speaking out. Regardless of the outcome of the case, he may be right about one thing: If Pistorius lied about her death being an accident, he will live the rest of his life by the haunting memory of his actions.

The most saddening part about this whole tragedy is that Pistorius symbolized hope and motivation for the disabled. Now, that symbol is gone and here we all are witnessing another iconic figure falling from the highest peak.
