Forever Proud

In recent news, the Kansas City Royals lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series. As a loyal and native Kansas City sports fan, I was sad to see catcher Salvador Perez pop out to end game 7.

However, I couldn’t be more happy and proud of that city and team for such a thrilling ride and past few weeks of playoff baseball. Furthermore, what a great season we had. I was especially happy when the Royals swept the Orioles because I got to go to work in downtown Baltimore and walk around with a smiling face, knowing that no one in the office could say anything to me.

Sure I would have loved to see us win it all, but what more can you ask for? The world series went the distance, and the Royals made it interesting to the very end with Alex Gordon tripling with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth.

To honor and remember the 2014 Royals, here is a video I found online and wanted to share. I am forever proud to be a Kansas City fan for life. We’ll be back next year. So hats off to Madison Bumgarner, he pitched a phenomenal series and did the unthinkable with making 3 appearances and throwing well over 250 pitches on hardly any days rest. As for the Royals, I had so much fun watching all of the stolen bases, home runs, electrifying hits, relief pitching performances, 100 mph fastballs from Ventura, and how wild the crowd got when the series came back to KC. So long until next spring!
